These little laptops have been popping up around me a lot, and I haven’t met an owner that wasn’t satisfied with it – and I can’t blame them. Whats not to like? A small lightweight, pretty functional, low cost laptop. The ASUS Eee PC 904HA 8.9-Inch Netbook goes for about $350 with Windows XP on a 160 gb harddrive. In addition, it has a built in 1.3 megapixel webcam and a card reader to copy pictures from a camera. This is good for those who can manage a small keyboard and small screen (maybe not for mom or dad). But otherwise, its quite functional and appealing.

Best Buy Discounting Macbooks

Best Buy is offering up to $150 off Macbooks and Macbook Pros. Apple almost never allows retailers to discount their products so this is a pretty good deal, especially the ultra slim Macbook Air for $1,299 and the new 13.3″ Macbook for $1,199.

Sub $500 Laptops

One of the most common request I get is for recommendation on a good, cheap general purpose laptop. This holiday season there are plenty of options in the sub $500 category.
